Established with the gift of U.S. Senator Jesse Helms’ legislative papers, the Jesse Helms Center archive of one of the greatest leaders in the modern conservative movement is unrivaled. As joint conservators of the papers, the Jesse Helms Center and Wingate University are continuing to work to process and preserve over thirty years of detailed and priceless history. Portions of the collection include Helms’ personal correspondence, photographs and film, constituent correspondence, and Foreign Relations Committee issues among others.

Currently, the Archive is closed to researchers while the final stages of processing and cataloging take place.  However, his biography, Here’s Where I Stand, is fully available through Google Books. For more information, contact the Jesse Helms Center at (704) 233-1776.
